What is a oversize boat in the state of North Carolina?

Legal boats are considered to be 8' 6" in overall width overall hieght will be around 12'

Requirements for over size boats

Any boat over 8' 6" wide will have to have permits issude by the state.

Any boat that is over 12' wide will have to have 1 escort.

Any boat over 14' wide will require atleast 2 escort cars.
